Private Classes

THERAPEUTIC:

For students with physical pain, injury or illness. In each session, I will assess your posture, breathing, energetic patterns and condition and create an individual program to address your unique needs. I will teach you how to harmonize your inner and outer body, using specific actions and techniques which create "optimal alignment". Optimal alignment activates the bodies' innate capacity to heal from pain, injury and illness. You practice these actions and postures during class time, then receive a detailed sequence to take home. Your dedication and commitment to continue this program on your own will greatly speed your recovery period. No prior yoga experience is needed.

RESTORATIVE:

For students with stress, exhaustion, fatigue, migraines, or debilitating illness. This unique branch of yoga employs props (blankets, bolsters, blocks, straps, eye pillows) to fully support the body and create an environment conducive to deep relaxation and rejuvenation. After assessing your needs, I will design a sequence especially for you. In each posture, I will teach you how to optimally align your body. Then I will guide you into a state of deep relaxation by coaching your awareness of the breath and sensations in your body and your response to them. Typically one stays in each pose from 5 - 20 minutes, rather than moving from pose to pose. In the end, you should emerge rested, refreshed and more equipped to consciously and constructively refine the way you meet the challenges of life.

REFINE YOUR PRACTICE:

For students who wish to master specific postures, actions or principles. Deepen your understanding and application of the Anusara Yoga universal principles of alignment. Are your actions strong and balanced and create optimal alignment? With a keen and discerning eye, I will coach you to create energetically balanced postures that will set your spirit free, and will shift your practice to a whole new level.

HOME PRACTICE:

For students who wish to cultivate a regular home practice. Cultivate confidence, proficiency and satisfaction in your at-home practice. I will share ideas on how you can create sacred space in your home, develop an action plan to schedule yoga regularly and teach you sequences that you can easily follow. You determine the length of practice, I'll design the flow.

YOGA-OFF-THE-MAT:

For students in need of spiritual guidance. If your concerns go beyond the physical (as most do) and you wish to gain a holistic perspective of your issues, then this session is for you. In a discussion format, I will draw upon relevant and metaphoric yogic teachings, including self-inquiry, contemplation and meditation techniques to help you polish the jewel of your own awareness to reveal valuable insight, wisdom and true perception.

All classes may be taken individually at an hourly rate or scheduled (weekly, biweekly or monthly) as a series of three or more (3+) classes, over a three month period, for a 10% discount. Please contact us for current rates and to schedule a private yoga class today.
